Clay Kitchen Plaques

Just click on this link to watch the video.

I made these kitchen fruit/veggie plaques out of oven baked clay and hand painted them. I think they'll look really cute in the kitchen.

I was in a little bit of a rush on this one to get the basics into the video.  I just wanted to show that you don't have to be an artist to paint.  I normally would add green leaves and other elimants to show more color but you'll get the basics to get yourself started.  I'm still a newbie with clay so as you can see, just about anyone can make things out of clay.
How to make clay leaves.

If you have a clay project and you want to add leaves, it's very simple to make them. You basically just pretend you are drawing them into the clay and then just add texture.

This was a pretty simple idea.  I bought a bag of rocks at the Dollar Tree for $1.00 and the glass for $1.00 and a package of candles for $1.00.  Pour some rocks or stones in the bottom and place your candle on top.  A pretty simple yet pretty cool candle holder.  And I've plenty of rocks and candles left to make several more.  You can even use a small drinking glass or other type holder.

Oven Baked Clay Grapes Wall Plaque
Just made this one today.  I think I'll make like 2 or 3 more veggies or fruits and have them hanging together in my kitchen.

Oven Baked Clay Fridge Magnet
Make your own fridge magnets.  Get creative.  You can use colored clay but since I like to paint also, I use white clay and then paint them.
Baby Shower Gifts Out of Oven Baked Clay
It's always fun to give a gift you made.  Be creative and come up with your own ideas.  I just take a piece of clay and by hands seem to take over and I come up with a lot of ideas I like to try.  I especially like the smaller items because it's more of a challenge.
Clay Earring Holder
I didn't think about videoing before I actually made the most of it but on the next one I will.  Working on a couple new projects, trying to get better with the video thing.  I like to paint as well so I use the white clay and paint it when I'm done, it also costs less than the colored clay and I don't waste any. Using colors sometimes you can't use part of it when your colors get mixed.  Just be creative.  I'm never quit sure how something will turn out, I just keep going and end up with what I end up with.  This was one of the first times I used clay.  You can learn a lot from utube and just thought I'd try it.

Plastic Bottle Bird Feeder
Made another bird feeder today.  Had a planters bottle and took advantage of it.

Closet Jewelry Display

I designed this jewelry display and had my husband put it together for me. I bought a regular jewelry box from the goodwill for $5.00 and used the draws which I painted teal.  I used the necklace hangers up inside the jewelry box to hang even more necklaces at the top of mine that you can spin around.  I put my lighter weight necklaces on those.  I spray painted everything white and

Get Rid of Those Carpenter Bees
I don't know about you, but the carpenter bees are notorious around here in GA.  I came across this on utube.  I think I'll try it and let you know how it goes.  I'll be out of town this weekend so I won't have time to make it until next weekend so stay tuned.

We have a permanent camp site on the Coosa River, everyone needs a get away once in a while.  I'm trying to make as many things as possible to make it feel more homey.  This is where I get a lot of my ideas, getting up in the morning, listening to the birds chirp, watching some of the boaters go by and
Popcycle stick picnic table (with dog).  It didn't turn out like I wanted it to, but once you put the hot glue to it, you just have to keep going.  After the fact I thought about rubbing some brown crayon on it to make it looked a bit aged but I didn't think about it before I gluded the table cloth on it.
Found this on Pinterest. A baby crib made into a bench.  What a great idea for recycling. I seen a foot and headboard for $15.00 down at the goodwill, I think I'll stop by again and get it.  Next, all I have to do is get my husband to make the seat and put it together.  The foot board you cut in half for the arms and attach to the headboard. Then all you have to do is add the seating.  When I get ours done will post a pic.   Just thought it was a great idea and one worth sharing.
